A Night Under the Stars...Well Sort Of

Let me begin with a little backstory...

It's important to know, because it goes along with the "best" date ever.

It was March 2009. I met this guy named "A" through my friend, Dave from work. We dated briefly. Around the end of April, we broke up. Two days after my birthday to be exact. It would have been sooner, but he wanted to wait, until after my birthday. I really hated my job doing tech support for Apple (I worked out an outsource company that did Apple support, not 'Apple' themselves). I started training for a new job at a financial firm.

This was around June 2009. I got a Facebook message from "A"'s friend, "H" to come hang out with him and some friends. When "A" and I dated, we hung out with him a few times. I didn't message "H" back, since I was busy with studying for my tests for the new job, training for the job, and the current job I had. I usually get back to people, but for some reason I didn't. About a month later, I got a text message from him again saying to come hang out. I had quit the job with the financial firm. It wasn't what all it was cracked up to be. I had went back to full-time with my tech support job. I decided to hang out with him. I wasn't sure where his friends lived, so I had him pick me up. This was the night I met my now hubby-David.

David and I instantly bonded. We talked to each other the entire time I was there. He worked a similar job that I currently had at the time. We all three stayed in that night, but the next night we all went out. I really liked this guy, and wanted to get to know him better. Later, I checked my Facebook, and I saw I got a friend request and a wall post from him. If he hadn't added me first, I would have...in about three days. About a week or so later, we started hanging out. It would have been earlier, but the weekend after we started hanging out, he had drill.

We had the best time with each other. We got along really well and was always laughing. I really wanted to be more, but I really didn't know if he wanted to or not. After about two weeks of hanging out, we had to cut one of our dates short. His grandmother that lives here had a heart attack. Around the end of July, we were together and received a call that his grandmother that is in California had passed away. (He is originally from California-the Los Angeles area). After he was back from LA, he was back here for maybe two or three days.

After that, he was leaving for two weeks to go to AT (Annual Training) at Fort Knox.

By this time, I really didn't know where we stood. He didn't either. We hadn't even kissed. Now, we have been out about eight times. I felt so comfortable around him, but by the end of the night, I became nervous. David is the only guy that made me feel that way. He is the first guy to make me nervous. Just thinking about kissing him, just made me overwhelmed.

I kept dropping subtle hints, but he was picking up on them. I, even had him help change my tire. He went ahead and did it, but was sure that I had put him in the "friend" zone. Little did he know...

For the two weeks he was gone to AT seemed to go by so slow. I really wanted to kiss him. I just hope I hadn't missed my chance. I talked to John, which is my best friend, nonstop about this. He told me that I should go ahead and do it as soon as he gets back. He also said that I shouldn't wait any longer. Needless to say, when he got back, I didn't kiss him. I chickened out again. Every time he would hug me, I knew I should look at him. Instead, I just buried my face in his jacket. I was beginning to think, and even before this moment, maybe he is trying to kiss me, but I am blocking him. I felt defeated once again. I thought of ways to kiss him 'cause I just couldn't just do it. I was kind of discouraged, since I only got to see him for 2 1/2 hours. He had been gone for two weeks! I had missed him so much.

Onto to the best date ever...

That weekend, David said he would be at my place at 2pm. I thought this was kind of early. I was sure he was planning on getting rid of me and cutting her date short. Before he left for AT, we stayed up until 7am. I thought maybe our date would end early. I had no idea what was in store for that day. We started on the motorcycle and drove towards our destination. (I didn't know where at the time). I didn't dare ask what we were doing or where we were going. I figured I would see where we would end up. We ended up at the Planetarium at a nearby university.

When he was AT, we texted on and off. One particular night that we were texting, was when there was a meteor shower. I was currently in my hometown for some reason. I had a cold and was laying in bed. (I'm allergic to it!). I missed the meteor shower. I was telling him that I really haven't seen a meteor shower before.

Now back to the planetarium...He told me that he remembered me saying that I never seen a meteor shower. He said, since he couldn't make one happen that he figured he would take me to the planetarium. I was speechless. I knew from this day forward that this guy was different. This was one of the good guys.

I figured this would be the day we would kiss (By the way, we had already been going out/hanging out/whatever you want to call it for 1.5 months). It would just have to be. I felt it in the air. He finally put his hand around my back when we were walking. While we were inside the planetarium, we were sitting really close. I had to be more obvious. We were really hungry, so we decided to stay and eat at a restaurant nearby. After we got back to where we live, we went to his new apartment. We hung out there for awhile and then went to a movie. We watched 'The Time Traveler's Wife.' We came back to my place. I thought at any moment, he would get up and leave and go back to his place. I became nervous just thinking about it. Instead, we stayed up all night and all day Sunday. We were together, and wide awake, from Saturday 2pm to Sunday 10pm. No, we didn't sleep together. Get your mind out of the gutter. Around 6:30am on Sunday, I could tell he was getting sleepy. He had he arm around me at this moment. He looked at me, and I looked at him. That's when it happened...we finally kissed.

Now, we all know how that turned up. We are now celebrating almost eight months of marriage.

Project 366: The Week of New

I can't believe it's almost the end of January. This month has flown by!

Yeah, I know... I may take too many pictures for the posts on Sundays, but you know what? This week is certainly not any different. I say either go big or go home. I like how I can post pictures with the specific days, especially if I didn't use those pictures in a blog post. I love pictures, and taking pictures is a HUGE part of my life. That's never going to change. Plus, I figured that you shouldn't be limited to taking one picture a day. Recently, I've been taking these pictures with the camera on my cell phone, since I have it with me everywhere I go.

Hubby and I tried the "Idaho Sunrise" recipe again. They are more tasty than they may look. Since, I don't like the yolk of the egg (sorry, it's gross to me), I used egg beaters for a substitute. I used more for my liking. Next time I am going to use less egg and more hashbrowns. I found a gift card in my purse that we were given for our wedding, so we went out and bought a cutlery set. Pretty self-explanatory. Oh yeah, we made the infamous homemade chicken nuggets and macaroni and cheese. Don't judge. I realize that I took like ten pictures of that for last week's post. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit. I like to take pictures of food, even if I already have like twenty of the same meal. So what!

Did you hear that Monday, January 24 was supposed to be the most depressing day of the year? According to the scientists or researchers or whoever did the study says that factors attributed to this are: weather, debt, time since Christmas, time since failing our New Year's resolutions, low motivational levels, and feeling a need to take action. Hubby and I decided to drive to the next city near us to try a restaurant that we haven't been together before. Well, I take that back. Hubby had been there once with the guys that he works with. The restaurant gave you so much food. The food was alright, but nothing that would make it stand out above anywhere. I don't see it as a place that we will frequent all that much.

The pictures of Bentley were obviously taken early in the morning. I was still awake on my iPad and my phone, while hubby was asleep. Even though I have already seen season 3 of One Tree Hill, it never gets old. I'll keep this brief about my camera, because I am going to dedicate a whole post to it. To make a long story short, I'm excited! If you missed this post, I revealed my first DSLR's name is Jeff, and my new baby is named Charles.

On Friday night, my hubby and I met up with another blogger, Stephanie @ take-hart and her husband. I was introduced to her by one of my former graduate school classmates, who also blogs as well. We had a great time, except the waitress dropped their pizza on the floor :( and still charged them for it. Super sad face :( It was still a pretty fun night and can't wait to do it again!

I do things a little different.

First things first, I'm guest blogging on Brooke's blog, Tales From My Fairytale. Find out more about my own real life fairytale,. Find out how a girl, who grew up in a small town found her big city boy that is from Los Angeles.

Okay, where was I? Okay. I do things a little different.

How do you ask? Instead of coming up with resolutions, I make a list of fifteen to twenty goals that I want to accomplish for each season. I've did this since the summer of 2011. It's worked out pretty well for me, since I have sort of gave myself a deadline.

This time around, I didn't create my goals on the first day of winter, December 21. I was late to the party this time, and didn't post my goals until January 10. Better late than never, right? I'll have until March 20 to accomplish these things.

Granted, it has only been less than three weeks, but let's see how I'm doing.

~~1. Buy a new DSLR~~

I just purchased a new DSLR camera this past Sunday. This is such an upgrade from the one DSLR that I have. It arrived yesterday! More to come next week!

2. Organize the guest bedrooms

I'm started one of one the guest rooms, but have taken a two week break. There were things that have came up. I hope to get back to organizing this weekend and the following week.

3. Unveil my announcement on the blog

I didn't "officially" make the announcement yet, but one of my posts has a major clue into what the announcement will entail. It's okay if you missed it, I'm still not ready to "officially" announce it!

4. Continue getting rid of items that I do not need.

Still working on it.

5. Have a blog sale for items that I am planning on getting rid of.

I need to sort through everything that I would want to put in the sale.

6. Drink at least a glass of water daily.

I know this is bad, but I still don't do this. I need to get on this ASAP.

~~7. Blog daily, including the weekends.~~

So far, so good!

8. Take 3,000 pictures (started count from December 21).

Let's break it down, shall we:

iPad pictures: 0

Cell phone pictures: 212

DSLR pictures: 647

Total: 859

~~9. Keep up with Project 365, or should I say Project 366.~~

~~10. Try to reply to comments, on the day that I get them.~~

I'm now doing a lot better with keeping up.

11. Clean my car out.

This is me that we are talking about. I really need to do this and get rid of everything that I don't need.

12. Make a gallery wall.

Still hasn't happened yet.

13. Try to not care what people think of me and to disregard people's negativity.

This is still somewhat of a struggle with me. People are always going to be negative and bring others down. In reality, those people are really insecure with themselves. I need to remember this:

14. Be more patient. Something I am totally not.
Still impatient. Sigh.

15. Do at least fifteen fashion posts.

Only did maybe a 1/2 of one.

16. Organize the bookshelves.
Planning on doing it this weekend.

17. Put photos into all my picture frames.

Still hasn't happened yet. I need to hang up wedding pictures from when we got married back in June.

18. Send out thank you cards. (It's now been 7 months. It's that the thought that counts)

Still haven't done it yet. This needs to be moved up to numero uno.

It's Okay...

To have written this post this morning, instead of scheduling it last night.

To go to a restaurant that you don't like, so you can be with friends.

To still feel bad for Nathan when Haley leaves him for the tour. #OTH

To pay more money for something want, since it isn't available ANYWHERE else. I don't want to wait for it to be available, especially since there is not an estimated date.

To incessantly check my email.

To track my package every couple of hours.

To still show hubby the 'Shit _______ People Say' videos. Yesterday, we watched the blogger one and the stuff people say from LA. (btw, hubby is originally from there).

Note: I know it says mom bloggers, but it could pretty much just be for bloggers. Hubby laughed, because I've been known to say these things a time or two.

To want to cry, because you found out something that can make you happy and change your life (No, I'm not pregnant).

To ignore calls from numbers you don't recognize.

To be making a birthday wish list (My birthday is exactly in three months).

To still have your real Christmas tree up.

To finally unprotected my tweets, because a lot of people could not see my tweets or know I was following them (@imatriplethreat)

To still love American Idol auditions after all these years.

To be jealous of all the bloggers being sent hair dryers or hair straighteners to review. (Misikko, if you are reading this... What about this girl?)

Sometimes, You Just Have to DIY It

Well, I did something that I told myself that I would never do...dye my own hair. I've always gotten my hair done by professionals, ever since I was thirteen years old. It could have been a cut, highlight, dye job, extensions, or whatever, I always went to the salon. I've been about every color; black, blonde, different shades of brown, and red. Plus, going to the salon can be expensive. I've spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars, even thousands on my hair. One thing that always intrigued me was the DIY approach. I always wanted to try it, but I was advised against it by my hairdressers. Recently, I just said screw it, I want to go a wee bit darker and try a different color. So, I bit the bullet and did it myself. I think it turned out pretty great, and loved having a new look in the comfort of my own home. It made me feel accomplished.

Hubby and I decided to try two new recipes: Twice Baked Potatoes and Healthy Chicken Nuggets. We have eaten them so many times since then. You can't go wrong with cheap, healthy (minus the cheese and bacon on the potatoes haha), and quick to cook. I posted about the recipes here: Get In My Belly.

Hubby and I decided on another recipe for breakfast. Since this was our first time making them, we are going to tweak the recipe a little bit. If people are interested or maybe I will just post it anyway, after I make them again this weekend. The recipe contains eggs, and I hate the yolk, so I'm substituting the egg for egg whites. We will see how that goes. As always, Bentley is hanging out in the kitchen. Hoping for a bite of food. Lunchtime brought the easy, classic meal of pigs in a blanket. Oh lookie, dinnertime brought back the recipe that I made the night before. Yeah, we are five year olds at heart. Can't go wrong, when you find a good recipe.

Hubby and I tried yet another recipe from none other... Pinterest and Google. Had to eat the twice baked potatoes again. This time, I added 1/2 cup of milk, cooked the potatoes 15 minutes longer, and more cheese and bacon. So delicious! Oh and we can't forget about SOPA and PIPA!

I received an email a couple of days ago (January 20), and here's an excerpt:

I am so excited to see my numbers grow and grow over the days. It feels good to find other blogs, and to have blogs find you. I loved the pink and grey layout with the chevrons, but I just had to go back to the three column layout that I love. I ordered more from moo.com about a week ago. Sidenote: Back in October, I qualified for 100 free mini cards from klout. That time, I used them for my blog. This time, I somehow came across an offer for 50 free business sized cards, so I jumped on the chance. Imagine my surprise, when they arrived almost two weeks early. This is a HUGE deal to me. Not only have I invested in business cards, but equipment, domain name, website template, and everything. I kind of debated about posting it, because of what people will think. People will think what they want. Plus, this happened on this day and I wanted to document it. Btw, I blurred out the contact info, because everything is still secret and not ready, even though I have been working on it for quite awhile.

Hubby and I tried, yet another recipe. Yeah, we cooked the twice baked potatoes again. They are addictive. If you make them, you will see what I am talking about. As always, Bentley is interested in seeing what I'm eating. He especially likes the smell of fruit. He even tried to get a few licks in on my sucker. Silly doggie!

Today, hubby and I debated on going on yet another cruise or buying myself a new DSLR. The dates really need match our schedules, and there wasn't anywhere we wanted to go or that we hadn't been. We didn't want to go, just to be going. So, hubby and I went back to the original plan and went to buy my new DSLR. I was in desperate need of an upgrade. The one camera that I want is NOT available anywhere. Like as probably anywhere in the world. Believe me, I looked. Since, the flooding in Thailand damaged one of the Nikon factories, production was halted. Luckily, production started a few weeks ago. I mean, they just released the D4. However, production is not expected to pick up fully until March. Every place I called and looked says it is the most in demand camera and that no one knows when they will be back in stock. Well, I found it one place, but the prices are a few hundrend dollars more, because I guess NO other store has it, and because it is in such high demand. I am even willing to pay more, but sadly, I am going to have to wait it out. Sigh. I can't wait until March. I need it now! #temper tantrum #first world problems. I guess this will test my patience. Sigh. Today, I probably ate a whole bag of almond chocolate kisses. I'm going to remind myself never to buy those again, because the same thing will happen. Hubby and I came back from shopping, and I discovered Bentley had destroyed my M.A.C. eyeliner pencil. Sad face. A fun thing I did: I dyed my own hair. For the past 12 years, I always got my hair done by the professionals. DIY'ing it always intrigued me, so instead of paying $100-$300+ to get my hair done, I decided to do it myself. I think it turned out pretty good, and will be a great way to save money in the meantime.

It's okay... to have hubby help me think of ideas for my blog.

It's okay... to kiss your dog.

It's okay... to still have your Christmas tree up.
It's okay... to use my iPad more than my computer.
It's okay... to get discouraged at times.
It's okay... to have the tv on, but not actually watch it.
It's okay... to have a lazy day or lazy week.
It's okay... to eat the same thing two days in a row.(Cooked the same thing on both days that is. Couldn't help myself, it was too yummy!)
It's okay... to steal hubby's socks. It's okay... to still watch old episodes of One Tree Hill on Soapnet on the weekdays, and including the weekends. It's okay... to have quit your job a month ago, even though the salary was pretty good. No amount of money is worth it, if you are miserable. A person's well-being is much more important.
It's okay... to have turned down interviews that are not a good fit and that you are not interested in.
It's okay... to like staying in rather than going out.
It's okay... to not want to go out when it is raining, even if it is to check the mail.
It's okay... to DVR shows or movies, forget that they are on the DVR, and then end up deleting them.

We Are All Rich and Blessed.

In today's time, we always see others who have more. We always desire more. Some may even be unhappy with what they have or really what they don't have. With television and social media, it is relatively easy to compare our lives with others. By doing this, some may feel inadequate and that they do not measure up to unrealistic expectations. After all, everyone is different. Everyone's life is different.

There may be people that you see that drive luxurious cars and live in lavish homes. Maybe they even have several homes. Or maybe they take vacations monthly. Or maybe they have a closet full of designer clothes, but still complain that they have nothing to wear.

So, there really is no need to compare.

While writing the above, it made me think of an email that I had received (which you can see in a top ten list).

Everyone is rich.

YOU are rich.

You didn’t go to sleep hungry last night.
You didn’t go to sleep outside.
You had a choice of what clothes to wear this morning.
You hardly broke a sweat today. (btw, it isn't talking about exercise)
You didn’t spend a minute in fear.
You have access to clean drinking water.
You have access to medical care.
You have access to the Internet.
You can read.
You have the right to vote.

Some things are taken for granted. It is so easy to overlook the small things, when so much energy is focused on everything else. It is all about perception. We all truly have things to be thankful for, only if we take a look around.

We all truly are blessed.

Sometimes: I feel like quitting blogging and feel like I don't quite fit in, even though I've been doing it for years.

Always: I keep on blogging, because it is something I love.

Sometimes: I feel down sometimes, whether it is sad, lonely, or self-critical.

Always: Hubby always cheers me up.

Sometimes: I cook dinner.

Always: Hubby does the dishes.

Sometimes: I second guess my dream and what I really want to do.
Always: I realize that nothing in life worth doing, is going to be easy. It will be hard work, but it will be worthwhile.

Sometimes: I care too much what people think.
Always: (At least I try to) Their opinions don't matter anyway. There are always going to be haters, and people that put others down, due to their own jealously, insecurities, and unhappiness. Just have to let it roll off your back.

Get In My Belly

I have something pretty exciting (or least I think I do) for you today.

I'll give you a hint. It's something I never do on here.

Excuse the cell phone pics. I went to grab my camera, and it was completely dead. I couldn't let that hard work go to waste, so cell phone it is. Also, excuse the corn, it came from a can.

Well, yesterday my hubby and I tried two new recipes for dinner. This year, we have been pretty good about eating and cooking at home. We probably ate out only a handful of times, maybe less than five. This is pretty good (coming from the girl who ate out at least twice. Everyday). Needless to say, eating and cooking at home is cheaper, fun, more convenient, and even more tasty.

I figured I would share the two recipes we tried last night. The website that I got them (the nuggets) from stated they were Weight Watcher friendly. At the end of the recipe, I'll post the nutritional information.

Okay, here's what you'll need:

Healthy Baked Chicken Nuggets

Ingredients:

16 oz (2 large) skinless boneless chicken breasts, cut into even bit sized pieces
salt and pepper to taste
2 tsp olive oil
6 tbsp whole wheat Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
2 tbsp panko
2 tbsp grated parmesan cheese
olive oil spray

Note: When we made the nuggets, we used thinly sliced boneless, skinless chicken breasts. We needed these for another recipe that we are trying this week. It doesn't matter, it will still work just as well. We just cut them into smaller pieces.

Directions:

1. First preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
2. Spray a baking sheet with olive oil spray.
3. Put the olive oil in one bowl.
4. Put the breadcrumbs, Panko, and parmesan cheese into a separate bowl.
5. Cut the chicken into small pieces.
6. Season the chicken with salt and pepper (ever how much you like).
7. Put the chicken into the bowl that has the olive oil, so that it evenly coats all of the chicken.
8. Put the pieces of chicken into the bowl that has the breadcrumbs, Panko, and parmesan cheese, so it is coated with the mixture.
9. Place on baking sheet.
10. Lightly spray with olive oil.

Baking time: Bake 8 to 10 minutes, and then cook another 4 to 5 minutes or until cooked all the way through.

Nutritional Information:

Servings: 4

Serving Size: 1/4th of nuggets

Old Points: 4 pts

Points+: 4 pts

Calories: 164.9

Fat: 4.6 g

Protein: 22.1 g

Carb: 7.7 g

Fiber: 0.9 g

Sugar: 0.1 g

The second recipe that I bring to you is...

Twice Baked Potatoes

Ingredients:

4 large russet potatoes, about a pound each
Olive oil
1/2 cup sour cream
1/2 cup milk
2 Tbsp butter, softened
1 Tbsp cream
1 cup grated cheddar cheese
4 strips bacon

Note: We didn't use any cream or sour cream this time.

Directions:

1. Bake the potatoes. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Scrub the potatoes clean under running water. Poke each potato in several places with the tines of a fork so that when the potatoes are cooking they don't explode. Rub the potatoes all over with a little olive oil. Place directly on the middle or top rack of the oven. Cook for 1 hour and 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are cooked through. They should give a little when pressed.

2. If you are including bacon as one of your mix-ins, while the potatoes are cooking, cook the bacon strips in a frying pan on medium low heat for 10 to 15 minutes, or until crisp. Drain on paper towels. Let cool. Crumble. (Or you can use bacon bits).

3. Allow the potatoes to cool to touch. Slice the top third lengthwise off the potato. Use a spoon to scoop out the insides, forming a potato "canoe", leaving about 1/4 inch of potato on the skin. Alternatively you can slice the potatoes in half, lengthwise. In this case you may want to bake an extra potato so that you will have more potato filling to mound into the potato boats.

4. Place the scooped out potato insides, sour cream, milk, cream, and butter into a large bowl. Mash with a potato masher. If you want a creamy texture, beat with an electric beater until desired consistency. Note, do not over-beat potatoes, they can turn glue-y.

5. Mix in the extras with the potatoes. Reserve some of the extras to sprinkle on the tops of the potatoes. Spoon fillings into the potato shells. Sprinkle with extra toppings.

6. Heat oven to 350°F. Place potatoes on a roasting pan and bake 15 to 20 minutes until heated through.

Next time, I think I'm going to make it have a creamy consistency. Nevertheless, these are pretty yummy!

Had a low-key day with my boys, especially since I could see again! Spent the day watching One Tree Hill on Soapnet and the marathon of Glee on Oxygen. Also, watched the end of the Saints vs. 49ers game. Can't forget about Saturday Night Live.

I also pinned and found a bunch of recipes. I hope they turn out good, so I can make them again. Who knows? If they are good, I'll post it on my blog!

I'm finally back!

All day yesterday, I had to keep my eyes closed, because my right eye was irritated. Must have been where I fell asleep with my makeup on. Oops! Yesterday was not fun! No televison, computer, blogs, twitter, or iPad. Hubby came home from work early. Later, he even read my tweets to me. How sweet! Luckily, when I woke up today, it is a lot better, hence I am actually typing a blog post.

I want to say hey to my new followers, and I will be able to make my way to your blogs this weekend!

My best friend from college and her hubby had came to visit me and my hubby. I hadn't seen her in a couple of months, and I hadn't seen her hubby probably since their wedding (back in 2006)! We hung out at the house, went out to eat, walked around the mall, and came back to the house for some drinks.

Sorry, Bentley. I didn't mean to! When I threw the ball, it accidentally landed in his food bowl. The reason it's in a tupperware container is because when we brought him in July, his collar dinged the bowl and he has been scared ever since. We even tried putting the food back in the normal bowl, but he won't eat out of it. He grabs a few bites and runs away. If he wasn't doing that, he would just bark at it. So, tupperware it is!

In the midst of purchasing a new camera, I wanted to reflect on the time that I had with Jeff, my Nikon D3000. You know you name your camera too. It's been a good two years, but it's time for me to move on. There's no way that I am going to get rid of it, but just simply keep for a backup. Definitely a necessity for me.

Jeff, the camera has seen many exciting things over the years and has even been out the country. Not only were vacation spots captured but everyday life, road trips, holidays, anniversaries, and so much more.

Hey! I'm no dummy! I got these at Half Price Books, so I couldn't pass the great deal off. Everything was also an additional 20% off. Probably the most usual book is the one of the bottom, which is strictly about Portrait Photography. I already know about ISO, shutter speed, and aperture and all that. Still these are great resources to have.These were also the most up-to-date books there. Boo! For not having any books on Photoshop CS5. Guess I'll have to head to the regular bookstore.

I absolutely love Hoarders and cannot miss it! Recently, I have been watching Infested, and I don't know why. All it does is make me paranoid that a bunch of creatures are crawling on me. I saw one episode where the different families had an infestation of BROWN RECLUSE SPIDERS (WTF?), another had bedbugs, and another had German beetles. This week's episode is about a family with an infestation of ticks. For some reason, the show just sucks you in and you cannot look away.

I love these shows so much and cannot wait until they return in the next coming weeks!

I am super excited about the new show, SMASH. Every since I saw the commercial for it last year, I have been dying to see it. It's finally time for it to come on! Well, next month that is. One thing I love about American Idol is the auditions. That's my favorite part.

I have one similar, but mine is grey, white, and blue pinstripe. The shirt that I am wearing underneath is a long sleeve ruffle button up. When I was working, I applied to various other positions, and got called for an interview. During that interview, they asked me to come back for a second interview. Since then, I quit the job that I had. Long story short, I was miserable and the money wasn't worth it. Now, it's time to move onto round three. I always wear suits to interviews.

The REAL List

Now, let's try this again. After contemplating and looking over the post I written, 2012: It's Going To Be Different, I decided that I was being unfair to myself. I had made a list of things that I KNEW that I was going to accomplish. The things on the list, especially dealing with purchasing items were out of the question. It was inevitable. Those things on my list weren't going to take all year to accomplish. Granted, I still have my 101 in 1001 list that I started on April 19, 2010. I guess I wanted to feel as if I accomplished something, and what better way than to put things that you were going to accomplish in the first place. Get me?

Let's be real... there was no way that I was going to sell my current DSLR. It was my first one, and just simply cannot part with it. I've named it Jeff. We simply have had too many memories together.

So, I'm going to start back what I did last year and make several goals that I wanted to accomplish before the season is over. This has seemed to work for me when I did it in Summer 2011 and Fall 2011. Before we know it, it is going to be winter for a month. It sure doesn't feel like winter, when it is 50 to 60 degrees outside and sunny. I'm making this list sort of late, considering winter began on December 21. I'm only going to have until March 20 to accomplish these goals, so here we go.

1. Buy a new DSLR
2. Organize the guest bedrooms
3. Unveil my announcement on the blog
4. Continue getting rid of items that I do not need.
5. Have a blog sale for items that I am planning on getting rid of.
6. Drink at least a glass of water daily.
7. Blog daily, including the weekends.
8. Take 3,000 pictures.
9. Keep up with Project 365, or should I say Project 366.
10. Try to reply to comments, on the day that I get them.
11. Clean my car out
12. Make a gallery wall.
13. Try to not care what people think of me and to disregard people's negativity.
14. Be more patient. Something I am totally not.
15. Do at least fifteen fashion posts.
16. Organize the bookshelves.

17. Put photos into all my picture frames.

18. Send out thank you cards. (It's now been 7 months. It's that the thought that counts)

Pretty attainable, right? I'll be posting an update at the end of this month to track the progress.

Nikon, Don't Leave Me Hanging

I've been in the market for a new DSLR. I've even started a "camera fund," so I can pay for it the smart way (i.e. saving up and using cash). I had it narrowed down to two, but had my heart set on one of them.

Recently, hubby and I were talking about or maybe it was just me and he was listening. I was wondering when newer models would replace the ones on the current market. I mean, DSLR aren't like cell phones, where it seems there is a new phone on the market every six months.

So, I stayed up until 3:30am. I wasn't tired, and hubby was already in bed because he has drill this weekend. I don't know what I was doing or how I am across it, but I'm glad I did.

Nikon officially released a new DSLR. It's the D4, which replaces the D3s. Preorders were being taken, but it is already sold out. Sold out in less than an hour!

Look how gorgeous it is! At $6,000 this is definitely out of reach for me. Maybe one day?

Also, around the same time that the D4 was released, images of the D800 (which will replaces the D700) was leaked and later removed. In the page source, it was found that it was stated it was for January or February release. Still no official announcement, but it rumored to cost around $3000.

I'm in love with the D7000, but there are rumors that the D8000 will be released and replace it. According to one site, it stated: "On May 2011, new reports suggest that the Nikon D8000 release date has been pushed back to autumn 2011 as a result of disruption to production in Japan following the earthquake and tsunami in March." Apparently, they believe it will be released in January 2012. Guess I will have to wait and see. You better believe I will be checking out Nikon's website and Nikon Rumor's website like a hawk.

\Since it hasn't been made official, it's up in the air. I'm so torn. Do I purchase the camera I want now or wait and hope that the newest model will be released? Like what if it isn't. (rhetorical question)

I know some people might not be interested in this, but I am. This is something that interests me and something I enjoy. It's my blog. Just saying. I was giddy as a school girl when I found all of these gorgeous cameras being released and rumored to be released. Had to throw a little disclaimer in there.

What Does Your Klout Say About You?

I pretty much started using klout ever since everyone started tweeting about it a couple of months ago. I rarely get on there anymore, checking my score, and things like that. I still get updates, and lately I have been getting more email notifications about new topics. I saw OK Lauren do her list, and I figured that I would do mine, especially since I am getting new topics. Topics that I am especially happy about!

1. Dogs: This is pretty much due to my doggie, Bentley.

2. Marriage: I share details about the married life with my hubby.

3. College: If by college, they mean graduate school. I graduated from undergrad four years ago, and graduate school this past December.

4. Cosmetics: I've been known to show nail polishes and different types of makeup from time to time.

5. Jeans: What can I say? I love clothes. I need to start back doing the fashion posts.

6. Camera: YAY! A new topic. I recently mentioned on how I want to upgrade my current DSLR for a more professional one.

7. Job Search: Haha. I remember when this topic first appeared. I was on twitter talking about my past job (I was working at the time), and how I was applying for other jobs and looking for a different opportunity.

8. Blogging: Guess it is self-explanatory. I am a blogger after all.

9. Facebook: I don't really use facebook, except on my phone. Guess it picked up the tweets, regarding the timeline on facebook.

10. Lexington: Happens to be a city in the state that I live.

11. Master's Golf Tournament: I never mentioned golf on my blog or really even like golf. Guess it got confused with obtaining a master's degree.

12. Religion and Spirituality: I never talk about these subjects on my blog. I just chose not to. Maybe it picked up my inspirational quotes?

13. Photography: I'm so glad this is a new topic that appeared on my list. I love it!

14. Shoes: Need I say more? If you know me IRL, you would know that I am the "shoe" girl. Love shoes!

Loose Change and Growing Up

Loose change.

Money that is forgot about.

Whether it be in the couch cushion, a purse, the console of the car, or just thrown about.

What a great feeling to find a dollar in an old pair of jeans.

It gives a great sense of hope that maybe there is more, if you just look.

Since, I no longer work at my previous job (It was the best for me to leave. I was waaaayyy past my breaking point). Hubby is at work all day, so I finally got the chance to go through everything, throw out the trash, organize, and all that housewife stuff. That's when I found $53.11 in change. Granted, $40 was in cash that I had, but still. I am interested in seeing what else I can find. Do you think I can find another $2000 laying around? Didn't think so.

I guess what I am getting at is that I used to be pretty frivolous with money. If I wanted something, I would go out and buy it, usually no matter what. I used to use my credit cards too, but I haven't done so since last July or August. Even last night, I heard about Zoya giving away two free nail polishes, but you had to pay shipping (so, basically you are getting like one nail polish free. just my opinion. nail polish is $8 shipping is $6.95). I asked hubby and even picked out two colors (we picked out the same ones). Then the new me decided against it, and that I really didn't need any nail polish. You should see my nail polish collection. It's ridiculous. Even though it would have only been $7, I would rather save it and use it for something that I really want. Who knows? That $7 could make a difference in the long run.

There are so many things that I want right now to purchase. The old me and probably a stupid thing to do would be just go purchase it my credit card. BAM! Instant gratification. However, the practical thing is to save for it over a course of months and then purchase it. It's not like it would be an impulsive purchase that I would regret later. I know what I want. I just want it now! So, bad it hurts. #tempertantrum. Hubby and I refer to these as #firstworldproblems. Even though we have older models of a product and we want to upgrade to a newer model. Like I want to get a newer DSLR to replace my D3000. I've had it for two years, and it is time for a new one. I have a pretty decent camera, but I want more. Which I will get in time. I will make it happen (by saving-the smart way). Sadly, not now. Ahh... first world problems.

Plus, a new change that has happened in our household is we are cooking. We used to eat out all the time. I'm talking A LOT. Almost every meal. I'm curious to see how much we are saving. Instead, of paying $15 to $50 for a meal (for two people), it probably now averages out to $5 to $10 a meal (for two people). There's always leftovers too!

I guess I am growing up.

Man's Best Friend

Is it just me or did it go from 60 degrees to 30 degrees overnight? Well, it did here. Hubby and I ended 2011 with taking our dog to the park, and sort of began the year doing the same. December 31 was a beautiful day. January 3, 2012? Not so much. It was freezing. So imagine trying to take pictures, focusing the lens, and setting the controls for the pictures. My hands were a block of ice. Even though it was freezing, Bentley didn't seem to mind. It had snowed a little earlier, and Bentley was curious, so he tried to eat it. Surprise. Surprise.

2012: Living Up to My Potential

2012. How do I want to set the tone for the year? And to do it only in one word? I thought about this over and over, and still had trouble with my "one word." I told hubby about the "one word" idea that I heard from Southern Hospitality and The Young Retiree. Hubby then helped me come up with my word: potential.

This is going to be the year.

This is going to be my year.

I am going to be much happier (which I already am), especially since I left my previous job behind in 2011. Some things just are worth it. Sacrificing your mental health and happiness are not worth it. Getting those things back, so worth it.

I now have the time and effort to pursue my dreams. So much so that I made a mini announcement last week in blogland. I am planning on doing something that I have wanted to pursue for quite sometime, and I am doing everything I can to make it happen. I am spending my time networking, researching, building a website (still in the beginning stages), studying techniques, practicing, and finding everything that I can to improve me. That will let me improve and live up to my potential. I am not wasting any time, because there is a lot that I want to accomplish in 2012.

No matter what, I want to live up to my potential. I don't want to feel discouraged, and I know that this will happen, because thus is life and no one is perfect. I don't want other people's thoughts or negativity drive me to feel less than adequate. There are times when I let other people's negative opinions consume me, and if that happens, I need to stop. This will be easier said than done. I need to realize that there are people who are negative, jealous, hate to see others succeed, afraid of pursuing their own dreams, etc out there and love tearing others down, just for the sake of it.

"People too weak to follow their own dreams will always find a way to discourage yours."

I want to know everything I can. I want to improve. I want to keep on learning. I want to put the best of abilities to use. I want to learn what works and what does not. If I fail, I am still learning. I see it as another opportunity to learn. Another opportunity to learn to live up to my potential.

If it was easy, everyone would do it.

Dreams don't work, unless you do.

Wedding Memories Are Forever

Since Christmas is over and the presents have been given out, I am not able to share the photo book that I made for our family. It was about 50 pages thick, and I included just about every detail of a wedding that you can include; from getting ready to the getaway car and everything in between. I designed these myself (with hubby looking over each page), and had to go picture overload. There was no way that I wanted to leave out any aspect.

Obviously, I didn't take a picture of every page, but here is a peek into what some of the pages look like.

It's rather difficult to take pictures of pages in a book. Holding the book and holding the camera. Sorry, the pictures aren't the best quality. To make it easier, I made collages.

We bought four of these, which turned out to be $$$, due to how many pages in the book. Luckily, I had some super awesome discount codes, which helped tremendously. Anyway, we purchased four books; one for us and three for Christmas gifts. Everyone that received one was so happy to have the memories of that day.

2012: It's Going to be Different

So, it's that time of year again to make New Year's Resolutions. Let's took a look at last year's resolutions... and let's say that I failed miserably. Well, sort of.

2011:

{No procrastination when it comes to work or school}

{No more messiness}

{Cook more often}

{Learn to say "no"}

{Start working out again}

{Drink water}

{Stop sleeping in my contacts}

The only one that I sort of stuck with was learn to say "no." All the others, not so much.

I'm doing it different this year.

Last year, I developed a list of resolutions that I wanted to attempt to accomplish. It seems as if that never works, and come January 2, resolutions are broken. It's a good idea in theory. Instead, I'm going to come up with year long goals that I want to accomplish:

1. I want to do the 365 photos a day challenge. I pretty much take photos everyday, but I want to take one of myself, one of myself and my hubby, and a miscellaneous picture. After 2012, print them in a book.

2. I want to participate in the 30 for 30 fashion challenge that I have seen bloggers do for basically the entirety of 2011, and even in 2010.

3. I want to purchase two new lenses for my camera (either a Nikon or Tamron 10-24mm f/3.5-4.5 wide angle lens and a fixed focal lens).

4. I also want to purchase a tripod and wireless remote for my camera.

5. To sell my current DSLR, and buy an even better one.

6. Pay off another credit card.

7. To travel somewhere, since we have every year. Last two years, it has been a cruise. However, it won't be this year, but that's okay!

So far, that's all I got. The ones that really are going to be hard to stick with is, remembering to take photographs everyday. I'm pretty good about taking photos pretty much everyday, but when life gets busy, it is easy to forget.

Here's to making 2012 one of the best years yet!

What a year that 2011 has been! Let's took a look back... picture style!

January:

On January 21, I began my second year of graduate school. In January, even though I had only been engaged about two weeks, I had quite a bit of the wedding planning completed. Including: a date, venue, photographer, dress, shoes for the ceremony, colors for the wedding, tuxedos, and more.

February:

Hubby got a promotion, and we moved started moving my stuff to live together. It was the right thing for us, since I was never at my apartment anymore, and his roommates moved out, due to graduating college and army stuff. We also had a low-key Valentine's Day.

March:

I am officially moved in! This is a another busy month and hard month, just like February. However, on a positive note, I did get more wedding planning done. I also got to meet Hal Sparks!

April:

I celebrated my 25th birthday twice, plus I got hair extensions again (for the third time)!

May:

I had two bridal showers and my engagement pictures taken. They were supposed to be taken earlier, but the weather was not too cooperative. We also booked our honeymoon!

June:

I had a bachelorette party. I got married, and we took a honeymoon!

July:

Hubby got active duty orders for a full time position, and we adopted a dog!

August:

Hubby won NCO on the battery level!

September:

This month was all about the fashion/outfit posts!

October:

We celebrated hubby's birthday, along with Bentley's birthday. I got my hair extensions taken out, plus I got my first perk from klout (100 mini business cards from moo.com). This seemed to be all the rage (social networking).

November:

Hubby got hit by a drunk driver, who BAC was like four times over the legal limit, and it was 3pm on a Saturday. I finished up my final year of graduate school, and waited for graduation to arrive. I celebrated my first Veteran's Day as a milspouse.

December:

I graduated with my master's degree, and we celebrated six months being married, as well as our first 'married' Christmas.

Big Moments of 2011

I love having a blog. It is such an easy way to reflect on where you started and where you ended up. It is easier to see the strengths you have and the trials and tribulations that you made it through, during the year. A blog. A documentation of you, your being, your personality.

So, with that said, I wanted to highlight my top ten posts, since it was the end of the year and all. (I have also seen quite a few bloggers do this as well).

A Big Announcement...More Like a Teaser

Sorry, I'm been MIA for most of this week. There has been a few changes around these parts, but happy ones! I have been feeling happier and motivated, and finally able to concentrate on "me." I am able to put forth the time and dedication to make my dream a reality. No longer am I going to let something dictate or control me like it did. I have a life to live, and I'm going to start living it. I am taking control, and see where it takes me. I just hope that I don't fail miserably, because that could be um... embarrassing. I have a long road ahead and lots to learn, but you can do anything that you put your mind to, right?

I have an amazing support system--- my husband, family, and friends (even though none of them know about it yet). I am putting myself out there, and I will soon make an announcement on my blog. It may be in January or February, but either way, I am nervous, scared, and excited at the same time.

 I can't let life pass me by, and see what others have that I want. Happiness in a career and success, all while loving what you do. I hope I can get to that point, and what better way to start than at the first of the year.

I have a feeling this is going to be my year! 

A Very Married Christmas

Our first married Christmas. 2011. Our third Christmas together. Let's just say each memorable is unforgettable in its own way. In 2009, it was our first Christmas together. We ~~kind of~~ went overboard on our presents. I would buy things and he would too. I would find out he bought even more, so I did too. Repeat and repeat. In 2010, Christmas wasn't extravagant by the number of gifts, since a very important event happened. On Christmas Eve, we became engaged. In 2011, it is sort of reminiscent of 2009, but still different. We are married, of course.

Something about else that you have to know, there basically are no secrets. That is including gifts. We aren't broadcasting to one another what we got, but we pretty much know. Hubby knew he was getting a Kindle, since Bentley ate the one he had. Hubby saw my wishlist on my blog. I kept asking him questions like I knew what he already bought, even down to where he was hiding it (I really had no idea). Little did I know I was right. I cracked him. The element of surprise is still there, don't be fooled. We also wear our Santa hats everywhere, because we are cool like that.

On December 23, we went to the Southern Lights, which is a yearly tradition for us.

On December 24, we opened presents.

I got an iPad 2 with a pink cover, Naked Eye Palette, neck massager (my neck always hurts), pink robe (hubby knows I always get cold after baths), a medium size dolphin pillow pet (to go with my larger one), Michael Kors watch, scarf and gloves, and I believe that is all from the hubs. Plus, I got to quit my job (haha, just kidding. That's not really a Christmas gift, but it is true though).

I got him a couple of games for his stocking and little cutesy stuff like that. I got him another Kindle 3G+Wi keyboard with no ads, basically the same one he had. Plus, a bunch of clothes from Express.

Can't forget about Bentley. He got some goodies too!

That same morning we went to Waffle House for breakfast. Both in Santa hats. A stranger stopped us and told us we were adorable. Shamrocks was for dinner. Only had a selected menu, due to it being Christmas Eve in all. Still yummy, nonetheless.

That night, we opened gifts at his parent's house.

Since my dream is to be a photographer (and I WILL make it happen), and I am getting more serious about it. I received a book about my camera, the Nikon D3000 (I bought it in March 2010), so I can learn the ins and outs of it. Plus, I received one of the things that I have been wanting for quite some time.

I am so excited about building my collection. So far, I have the camera body, 18-55 mm lens, 55-200mm lens, countless SD cards and card readers, Kelly Moore camera bag, and now this!

I absolutely love it, and it makes a tremendous difference to my pictures.

I just had to add another picture of our Christmas tree.

Plus, I had to try out my new flash some more. The living room was relatively dark. The only light was from the television and a light bulb from the lamp. Love how the flash was able to capture the photo, and make it look so bright!

On Christmas Day, we went to Denny's for breakfast and The Pub for dinner. We did the whole family thing on the day after. Such yummy food. What I would give for some more!

I am so sad Christmas is over, but so excited for what 2012 has in store!

How To Get Into the Holiday Spirit

With Christmas being three days away... everyone should be in the Christmas spirit. Feeling a little down? I've put together a few steps that will be a surefire way to instill that spirit within you.

Step One: Paint your nails to reflect the holidays.

Step Two: Take a little break

Step Three: Buy a real Christmas tree at a nursery and have hubby fluff it out

Step Four: Time for lights!

Step Five: Try to wrap presents, but something *ahem* Bentley gets in the way

Step Six: Eat yummy bacon and cheese goodness from The Pub

I have seen this on several blogs, so I figured I would join in the fun, especially since Christmas is three days away! Nevertheless, still a fun survey.

2. Real tree or Artificial? Definitely real! Well, ever since I met my hubby. The trees we had in 2009, 2010, and 2011 have been real.

4. When do you take the tree down? Whenever. Sometime in the middle or end of January. Or when it is dead as crap.

5. Do you like eggnog? Nope.

6. Favorite gift received as a child? I really have no idea.

8. Hardest person to buy for? My mom and some of my hubby's family. Feels like it changes every year.

9. Easiest person to buy for? My dog. Just kidding. My hubby.

In the Spirit of Winter... Fall 2011: Final Verdict

On September 27, I created goals for the fall that I wanted to accomplish, before the first day of winter. I'm not sure what I was thinking about coming up with so many goals, considering my job and what it all 'entails.' Plus, I was in graduate school at the time. Both of these things are a thing of the past. SPOILER ALERT

I can't wait to come up with my list of goals for winter 2011-2012. I just know that I will be able to accomplish a lot more, due to having tons of free time.

So, here's the final verdict:

1. Send out thank you cards for the wedding. It's been while. Oops!
I need to get on this ASAP.

I didn't receive the 3 A's and 1 B that I wanted, but I still did pretty well. Close though. I ended up graduating with a 3.69

15. Donate 300 more items to Goodwill. (In the summer, I had a goal of 150 and ended up donating 197 items).

Back around September 26, I got rid of another 117 items. Lately, I haven't had the opportunity to go through anymore clothes.

16. Make the Anthropologie inspired flowers that I have been planning to make since June.

Still haven't had the chance.

17. Make the chevron print rug that I have been planning to make since June.

I've made cupcakes and other types, but not the Guess Again cookies. This is on the to do list for this weekend.

22. Organize the two guest bedrooms.

Once again, I haven't had the time. This is definitely doable now.

23. Read three books.

Haven't had the chance.

Not terrible, but I know that I can accomplish more in the winter. Just as long as I do not have another "situation" like I had before.

I'm Influential in Dogs?!?!

Once I joined klout months ago, I always thought it was kind of fun to see what you are "influential" in. Well, when I say the "Adventure of Tin TIn" perk, I had to join in, since I am influential in Bentley dogs. I was so excited to get my package. I knew it contained two tickets to the movie, "Adventures of Tin Tin." This is awesome, 'cause hubby and I can have a date night to the movies. We hardly ever go to the movies anymore. There really hasn't anything that we would be willing to pay to see. I'm much more of a homebody.

Well, last week on December 14, I received this huge box from klout.

I opened it up to find several goodies inside. Not only were there two movie tickets inside, but there was a poster and a Ty stuffed animal of Tin Tin.

This package was sponsored by Purina and the movie, "Adventures of Tin Tin."

I was kind of sad, because I was expecting a sample of dog food for my doggie, Bentley. However, I am grateful for what I got, because I did receive more than I expected. It was still a very fun package that put a smile on my face. This is definitely one of my favorite perks that I have received!

I Did It Again...

On December 10, I officially graduated with my master's degree. This was on main campus, approximately two hours away. This past Friday, December 16, my school/program had another graduation ceremony, but in the city where we live. This was the pinning ceremony. It was held at a church, and was more intimate. It was also perfect for the family and friends that weren't able to make it to the actual graduation on main campus. This past Friday night, not only were we hooded again, but we were also pinned.

I was pinned twice. Once was for graduation and being welcomed in to the field. The second pin was for being officially inducted into Chi Sigma Iota, which is an international honor society for students, professional counselors, and counselor educators. One of the criteria to join is having a certain GPA.

Even this weekend, we are going to finally decorate our tree. I'm even going to paint my nail red and gold, but I lost my glitter gold nail polish. Sad face. I just know this will help put me in the holiday spirit. Who doesn't love holiday inspired nails?

Last night, my hubby showed me these videos on youtube from bad lip reading's channel. The guy that made these watched them speak without sound, and tried to figure out what they were saying by attempting to read their lips. These are hilarious, especially the ones of the politicians. Check out: Ron Paul, Herman Cain, Mitt Romney, and Rick Perry.

I was laughing so hard that there were tears in my eyes. We watched each one several times, and still laughed as hard as the first time.

You Can Call Me, "Master"

Last weekend was the day that I have been waiting for two years. It finally happened. Since I didn't go to graduate school on main campus, hubby and I decided to drive up, so I could participate in the ceremony. For graduate school, I went to one of the off-site, satellite, etc. whatever you want to call it, that was located in my city. Graduation was only two hours away, but I felt it was definitely worth going. I worked hard for it. Not to mention sacrificing two years of weekends and countless hours and nights completing projects, papers, assignments, etc.

Since I am not a morning person, and since graduation was in a different time zone. Hubby and I decided to go to a nearby city, where the graduation was located. Two hours later, we made it. We stayed in a town that was about seventeen miles from campus. The city that we stayed in had more things to do, but it was still such a small town. Even though, we technically could have left the morning of graduation, I wanted to relax and not have to worry about finding it. However, we still had trouble finding....

We stayed at the Best Western, which is whatever. It was still relatively nice, and we stayed in the suite. It had a living room, office, and the hugest bathroom ever. If only, we had one that big in our house. It obviously isn't a four star hotel, but when you are staying in a small town (and I mean small), this isn't bad at all. It was still fun!

It was cold, so I winterized a dress that I bought from Modcloth, last September 2010. You may remember, when I realized "short is an understatement." I've been waiting to wear the dress ever since I bought it, but wearing it by itself, would not be appropriate. It looked like a top on me. So, I added thick, black winter tights, a cardigan, and a camisole to wear underneath the dress.

The city we stayed in was only about fifteen minutes away, but in a different time zone. Talk about confusing. We checked out of the hotel and drove to get some breakfast. What I hadn't noticed before was our phones changed when we were in a different time zone. Pretty neat! We drove around for about an hour making sure we knew where graduation was and trying to find where to eat. It was sad. There was not anywhere to eat. We ended up eating Sonic for breakfast, which happened to be pretty yummy!

Afterward, we drove to the school and I gathered up my robe, cords, and regalia and headed to the holding room or whatever you want to call it. Since it was December graduation, hardly anyone showed up, at least for the master's degree. Even though I didn't go to main campus, I still wanted to have that experience. I wanted to say that I officially have been hooded and have received my master's degree. I was worried about my last name, since it is hard to pronounce and spell. All of the chairs had our names on them. They told us to come to the front, if we had a name that would give someone trouble to say. Thank goodness! I went up to the front of the room and informed them how to say my middle and last name.

Before we knew it, we were lining up and heading over to the ceremony. This would be my fourth graduation. My first was kindergarten (haha), then eighth grade, then 12th grade, and then with two bachelor degrees. I think now that I am going to be finished with school.

Before I walked across the stage, I was hooded. I wish I got a picture of that. When I walked across the stage to receive my master's degree, my middle name was pronounced wrong. Before I received it, I corrected it, and it was announced again. Middle name fail.

You can now call me "Master."

Just kidding.

Double G: Glitz and Glam

About a month ago, I signed up for the "How the Glitz Stole Christmas" blog swap that was hosted by Lindsey and Raven from The Bargain Blonde and A Momma's Desires and Pacifiers. You were supposed to send gifts that were all sparkly, glittery, glam, etc.

I received a coffee cozy, nail polish (Sephora OPI: I'm Wired), hand sanitizer (Ribbon Candy), nail glitter, and cupcake baking cups. Everything was mostly pink, which is my favorite color ever. I absolutely love, love, love nail polish. It's like an obsession. Hubby says I have too much. Let's be honest though, a girl can never have enough polish. Even though, I am running out of room on my nail polish organizer that I made. Time to make a new one. And nail glitter? Love it. I especially love rocking it on my ring finger, Pink nail polish and silver glitter=the perfect combination. The coffee cozy is super adorable. Look at that bling! The hand sanitizer even had bling! Not to mention that it smelled delish!

Halfway Mark

Today, six months ago, on June 11, 2011, I married the love of my life and best friend. He has marked a change in me, and has made me become a much happier person. It definitely has not felt like six months at all. Here's to the halfway mark!
