2012: I Missed the Memo

I missed the memo somewhere. Apparently, the "thing" to do was  tell all about your year this past Friday. Coincidentally, I was going to do it that day as well, but I just never got around to it. I figured I had a few days, until this year was over. Better to do it on the last day of the year, than not at all, I suppose.

This has been some year! There has been a move. Granted, it was just on the other side on the city. We also became a family of four, as in another little big furbaby. There was a car accident that could have taken my life, due to the extremity of it. Obviously, it didn't, or I wouldn't be blogging at this moment. I've been through two surgeries this year: one was "elective" and one was an emergency. There has been tragedies; tornadoes, Hurricane Sandy, Aurora movie theater shooting, Sandy Hook, and countless others. I said goodbye to the hubby until sometime late 2013. Stuff happened, why don't you see for yourself below :)

This year hasn't been successful, regarding the ONE WORD that I chose to set the tone for 2012. I'll explain in the new year, plus I will share the deets with my new word for 2013. Here's to hoping that 2013 will be even better!

January:

-The ONE WORD that would describe 2012 and that would set the tone for the year would be: Potential.

-I started Project 366 for the first time.

-It's official. I AM the stereotypical blogger.

-I upgraded my DSLR to a more expensive and professional model.

from my post: The Stereotypical Blogger

February:

-I discovered a love of cooking.

-Response to a military wife, who "stirred the pot" and rocked the entire military spouse world. Remember her, ladies?

-Valentine's Day as a married couple.

-I got cold feet when it came to "officially" and announcing my photography business on my blog.
from my post: A Month Overdue and Cold Feet

March:

-Jim Catore paid a visit to Lexington, because tornadoes of a severe magnitude were supposed to destroy our city. When he comes to your town, you know trouble is about to hit! Instead, the path of the tornadoes were diverted. Tornadoes destroyed a city that is located 45 minutes from my hometown, where I grew up. It also destroyed another city in Kentucky

-We became a family of four by adopting a second dog, Royce!

-My last grandparent died.

-I Almost Died in a Car Accident. I was driving 65 mph on the interstate, and someone rear-ended me going over 100 mph. I was then slammed into the median. I got a second chance at life.

April:

-I was interviewed and appeared on the news on the night that the University of Kentucky Wildcats won their 8th National Championship.

-I failed as a party host. Never again.

-Since it was my birthday, I talked about 26 things that I learned in 26 years.

-Hubby and I took our yearly vacation. This time, we went to California, so I could see where he grew up! I cried when we left the pups and Orbitz is a bitch to deal with (skip it!). I saw the Dodgers play baseball, went to the pier at Manhattan Beach, DISNEYLAND!, visited family in Pine Mountain Club, Hollywood overload, Venice Beach, Rodeo Drive, visited more family in Santa Clarita, Griffith Park Observatory, and the Los Angeles Zoo.

May:

-I went down memory lane and looked at the five proms that I went to during high school.

-I attempted "The Hair Project."

-I talked about my "elective" surgery, but first, I gave a teaser. I then exposed the details and talked about The Truth Behind My Surgery: The Medical Side and How I Had to Change My Life, Because of the Way I Was Treated. After the deets of the whole ordeal, I talked about my experience with surgery, which was the first time being under anesthesia. This surgery changed my life and will have everlasting effects on my body and self-esteem. Here it is: My Surgery Where Diet Coke and 50 Shades Were Most Important, Plus How My Life Has Already Been Changed.

July:

-I posted a vlog tutorial about how to do the Upside Down, Inside Out, French Braid with Top Knot.

-I have no shame. I dressed up as a cow to get free Chick-fil-a.

-I got a job selling cars. The full deets.

August:

-I decided to make another goal list, hence, 26 in 26. Only four months too late.
from my post: Days Currently Like This

September:

-I did "The Hair Project" for the second time.

-Said goodbye to the hubby. (FYI: This isn't the exact time, date, or month).

-I started being published on the "Lucky" magazine community network.

-I had a real conversation about blogging. A love/hate relationship.

October:

-I got my first tattoo.

-I'm unemployed, but I don't care. I'm the type of person that wants to work for themselves and be self-employed. One day. Le sigh.

-I also had an appendectomy. 14 hours spent at the ER, before surgery. Such BS!! Ouch!

-The world lost a blogger and a friend, Tiffany. RIP.

November:

-A great concept: 86400.

-I received the pictures from the photoshoot that the hubby and I did, before he left for his deployment, Part I and Part II.

-Finally, I created a facebook blog page about four years of deciding against it.

-After having the iPhone for 3 years and then a Droid for 1.5 years, I was reunited with the iPhone 5.

December:

-I devised a plan to pay off six digit credit card debt within one year.

-Showed support for Sandy Hook and Dalton Dingus.

-After four years of EHFAR, I decided to take sponsors.

-The first day of winter brought our first snow, and the dogs loved it!
