I Will Not Be Silenced

I have decided...

I will not censor my blog.
I will not care about what others say.

This is my outlet.
This is my passion.
This is my hobby.

As the title of my blog states, "Everything Happens for a Reason," I truly believe it does.
Looking back, I realize the "drama" that was caused was meant to happen.
It allowed things that needed to be discussed and to be brought up that were never mentioned.
It was something that had to be done.
I am grateful for the opportunity.

It also allowed me to be more assertive and be more comfortable with confrontation. These two traits are especially important in my field of work. In the past, I most likely would have not done that. Even to this day, it is a work in progress.

I have also decided that I am not ashamed of my blog or anything that I have written.
I write from the heart.
There may be times that someone may not like what I have to say.
No one can tell me how to feel or whether my feelings are wrong.
Also, no one, and I mean no one is to tell me not to even feel.
I am a human being, and I do have emotions.
Believe it or not.

Also, by not blogging and keeping it real, so to speak, would not be me.
At first, I thought of keeping a private blog, but then I thought, why should I?
Why should I hide a part of who I am?
Some of my posts may help someone in the long run, who knows?
However, I may be more choosy what I decide to post, but then I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

One of my dreams is to be an author, so maybe I will write a book someday about everything or a self-help book or whatever. I am getting my master's in counseling, and would love to help people, especially via the written word. Wouldn't that be the coolest?

I wish I had your guts. For now I'm still partially hiding in privacy. It's frustrating and annoying and I'm sure I've lost a few followers but my nerves sure feel a lot better!

I'm so glad that you decided on what's best for you. There are some things that I want to post about, but I don't know if my husband will let me or not.

I'm happy you were able to sort through your emotions and figure out what you wanted to do :) Glad you'll be sticking around and staying true to yourself!

Good for you! I'm a new visitor (came from Tara's post about the adorable headband you made her :) but I think you should write about whatever you'd like. Forget everyone else if they don't like it.

And to write a book would be cool - go for it :)
